New Delhi: Riding on the success of the first two seasons, Ponty Chadha Foundation (PCF) is all set to kick off the third season of the PCF Cup tournament for Corporate Cricket teams on March 6, 2021.  This is an eight-week-long tournament in partnership with Citiskape Mediacom, and the final match will be played on April 25, 2021. The glittering trophy of the tournament was unveiled today with cake cutting ceremony at The Park Hotel, New Delhi in the eminent presence of Chief Guest – Shri Manoj Kumar Upadhyay, Director and the Deputy Advisor, Energy & International Cooperation, NITI Aayog, Government of India, and Guest of Honour Hariom Kaushik, Vice President, Haryana Olympic Association, H.S. Kandhari, Director, Wave Estate, Dr. Vandana Sharma, Director, Mata Bhagwanti Chadha Niketan (MBCN), Rakesh Thapliyal, Editor-in-Chief, Khel Today Magazine, and  President, Delhi Journalists Association and Manoj Attri, Founder Citiskape Mediacom and creator PCF Cup. The new jersey for the players was also shown to the captains of the participating teams.

This is one of the many earnest initiatives of the foundation towards creating positive social impact and we are really looking forward to it.”

To promote sports in India, The PCF Cup is one of the most impassioned initiatives of The Ponty Chadha Foundation in association with Citiskape Mediacom, which provides a unique platform for avid cricketers and sports enthusiasts from the corporate world to showcase their talent. The PCF Cup Cricket Season III will be conducted as per the playing conditions similar to a standard T20 tournament in India.

Elaborating on the tournament, H.S. Kandhari, Director, Wave Estate, said, “Pandemic induced stress has taken its toll on both our physical and mental well-being, therefore, focus on our health and active lifestyle had taken a backseat. This tournament has been timed to bring back the focus on physical fitness and re-energize our social bubble with sports enthusiasts.

Dr. Vandana Sharma said, Initiated by Mrs. Jatinder Kaur Chadha in September 2014, in the memory of her late husband, the erstwhile visionary Chairman of the Wave Group, Mr. Ponty Chadha, The Ponty Chadha Foundation (PCF) is the CSR arm of the Wave Group. The foundation addresses areas pertaining to hunger and food security, community health, education and skill training, sports for children and corporate employees, and running awareness drives for sanitation, women safety & fitness among others. One of the prominent initiatives undertaken by the foundation is Mata Bhagwanti Chadha Niketan (MBCN), a one-of-its-kind school in the country, founded in 1999 for specially able children in the areas of education, vocational training, occupational and physical therapy, and capacity building. The completely free provisions have empowered around 25000 especially able children. PCF Cup-Cricket, PCF Football League, are some of the initiatives by the Foundation for creating awareness about sports and encouraging an active and healthy lifestyle in the community.

According to Manoj Attri third edition of the PCF Cup will have 16 participating teams, each representing different corporate giants such as Aaj Tak, Dabur, Maruti Suzuki, KK Modi Group, HDFC Bank, SBI Card, TEVA, WAVE, The Statesman, Properazzi Realty Pvt Ltd, Resource Logistics, Transsion India Ltd, Celebi India, P&P, TMM magazine, and HCL.
