IGI and Shyam Lal College Secure Big Wins in PSPB Baba Deep Singh Hockey Tournament

New Delhi: On the third day of the 5th PSPB Baba Deep Singh Hockey (Men’s and Women’s) Tournament, Shyam Lal College and the Indira Gandhi Institute of Physical Education and Sports Sciences (IGIPESS) registered resounding victories in the men’s category. Meanwhile, in the women’s category, the Delhi University Alumna team comfortably defeated Vivekananda College 5-0.

Shyam Lal College handed the hosts, Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Khalsa College, a crushing 8-0 defeat on their home turf. For Shyam Lal College—which scored 5 goals in the first half and 3 in the second—Naveen and Pankaj scored two goals each, while Pratyush Singh Jaggi , Bhupendra, Yash, and Nandkishore contributed one goal apiece. The winning team’s goalkeeper, Mohammad Kamil, won the ‘Player of the Match’ award.

IGIPESS defeated St. Stephen’s College 7-0 in a one-sided contest. Chander scored two goals, while Yash, Amandeep, Dhruv, Sheeshnath, and Soren Aman each scored one.

In the women’s category, Delhi University Alumna team defeated Vivekananda College 5-0. Meena scored two goals, while Sonu, Zehra, and Inderpreet scored one each. Vivekananda College’s Ekta was named ‘Player of the Match’.
