 New Delhi: S.R.K. Technology XI beat Rajnigandha Cricket club on the spin of the coin and became champions of the Goswami Ganesh Dutt Memorial Cricket Tournament second consecutive year. The Final match of 48th edition could not be completed because of heavy rain.
Captain of Rajnigandha Club Yogesh Kumar won the toss and elected to bat first. Only 35 overs were completed when match was stopped because of rain. Rajnigandha Club scored 229 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in 35 overs. Rituraj Sharma 84, Sameer Rizvi 60 and Karan Lamba 41 were main scorer. Keshav Dabas took 3 for 32.
In the morning Shri Manoj Tiwari, Member of Parliament from BJP, inaugurated the Tournament and wished best of luck to the members of both participating teams.
Awards were given to the Winner and Runner up teams of 2022 and 2023 by Shri Harsh Vardhan, M.P & Former Central Health Minister and Shri Surinder Khanna, former Indian Cricketer.
Shri Vineet Lal (Chairman, Goswami Ganesh Dutt Memorial Committee) presided over the function. Shri Kimati Lal (Owner, Kimati Sports, Delhi), Shri Vinod Sethia (Owner, Umex Electric), Shri Rakesh Dhawan (Vice President) Shri Pawan Katyal (Vice President) along with many other dignitries and players participated.
While inaugurating the first ceremony, the General Secretary of the Society, Shri Raman Kumar Saluja, giving details of the establishment of the Goswami Ganesh Dutt Memorial Society, told the history of the society, after that the chief guest, Shri Harsh Vardhan, and the special guest, Shri Surinder Khanna and other distinguished guests were welcomed by the members of the society.
After that the winning team of 47th and 48th All India Tyagamurti Goswami Ganesh Dutt Memorial Cricket Tournament 2022-2023 were given trophies. S.R.K.TECHNOLOGY XI CRICKET CLUB got two years champions trophy. Runner-up of Cricket Competition 2022 SPORTING C.C. and RAJNI GANDHA CRICKET CLUB, NOIDA, the runner-up of 48th edition of the tournament-2023, was given a shield and several items of home decoration to the teams.
On this occasion Dr. Harsh Vardhan preached to become alive by making the sacrifice and dedication towards the society as done by the idol Goswami Ganesh Dutt ji. Special guest Shri Surinder Khanna said that all the players are very much in need of such a tournament, where they get an opportunity to improve their game while playing with a prestigious team with all first class facilities. I have played in this tournament for 30 years.
