Hockey Unit of Tamil Nadu drew with Hockey Karnataka 1-1 ~


Hockey Chandigarh beat Kerala Hockey 1-0

Uttar Pradesh Hockey beat Manipur Hockey 8-0

Hockey Punjab beat Le Puducherry Hockey 15-1

Simdega (Jharkhand) : Delhi Hockey, Hockey Chandigarh, Uttar Pradesh Hockey and Hockey Punjab earned victories in their respective matches on the second day of the 11th Hockey India Sub Junior Women National Championship 2021 here in Simdega today.

Delhi Hockey began proceedings on day two by registering their second consecutive win of the 11th Hockey India Sub Junior Women National Championship 2021, beating Hockey Andhra Pradesh 3-1 in the Pool G encounter. Subham (12’, 52’) scored two goals while skipper Pooja (39’) converted a Penalty Corner in the third quarter. Bobbili Jhansi (53’) bagged a consolation goal for Hockey Andhra Pradesh.

In Pool H, Hockey Unit of Tamil Nadu and Hockey Karnataka played out a hard-fought 1-1 draw. Vairavi (28’) gave the Hockey Unit of Tamil Nadu a lead just before half-time. Hockey Karnataka equalised through HA Tushara (39’), who had scored a hat-trick on day one. In Pool D, Hockey Chandigarh beat Kerala Hockey by a narrow 1-0 margin in the third match of the day. Tamanna (14’) scored the winner for Hockey Chandigarh.

In Pool E, Uttar Pradesh Hockey registered a comprehensive 8-0 win against Manipur Hockey. Uttar Pradesh Hockey raced to a two-goal lead in the first quarter through goals from Vandana Patel (4’, 53’, 59’) and Suneeta Kumari (13’). Pushpanjali Sonkar (21’, 32’) and Purnima Yadav (22’) further extended Uttar Pradesh Hockey’s lead. Khushi Rathor (41’) and Vandana scored Uttar Pradesh Hockey’s sixth and seventh goals before the latter completed her hat-trick in the closing stages of the match.

In Pool F, Hockey Punjab romped to a 15-1 victory against Le Puducherry Hockey in what was the final match of the day. Captain Sukhveer Kaur (3’,11’, 29’, 32’, 32’, 48’ , 60′ ) was the star of the show with seven goals. Daljeet Kaur (46’, 50’, 56’) hit three goals while Gurjeet Kaur (2’, 9’), Jaisikdeep Kaur (25’ , 36′ ) scored two goals each while Muskanpreet Kaur (55′) scored one goal. Le Puducherry Hockey Captain D Keerthiga (54’) opened her team’s account from a Penalty Stroke.

Pool matches between Hockey Bengal & Telangana Hockey, and Hockey Mizoram & Hockey Jammu & Kashmir, were forfeited.
