UP Yoddhas open their PKL 10 season with one point against U Mumba

Ahmedabad: UP Yoddhas, the GMR Group owned franchise representing the state of Uttar Pradesh in Pro Kabaddi League, opened their season ten campaign with one point against U Mumba. The Yoddhas fought hard to earn the winning point but went down narrowly to U Mumba with a scorecard reading 31-34. The second game of the opening day of the Pro Kabaddi League season ten was being played at The Arena by TransStadia, Ahmedabad.

For Yoddhas, star raider Surender Gill and debutant, Anil Kumar stood tall earning 7 points each from the game. UP Yoddhas are currently placed third on the points table with one point from as many games and will now take on Haryana Steelers on 06th December, 2023. The match will be telecast LIVE & Exclusive on Star Sports Network, and can be streamed LIVE on Disney Hotstar 09:00 p.m. (IST) onwards. 

The game began with U Mumba racing ahead with quick bonus points and some worthy tackles, however, it was Surender Gill and Anil Kumar who kept the Yoddhas fight alive but could not save them from an All-Out. With five minutes left in the first half, UP Yoddhas were trailing by 8 points with the scoreboard reading 18-10 to U Mumba’s favor. Yoddhas however staged a brilliant comeback to reduce the deficit to just five points as the scoreboard read 19-14 to the favor of U Mumba at the end of the first half.

The second half saw stiff competition from both ends however UP Yoddhas outshone U Mumba to make a comeback to trail by just two points after inflicting an all-out on U Mumba in the 33rd minute. The scoreboard at this moment read 23-25 to U Mumba’s favor, as UP Yoddhas thereafter tried hard to get the lead but some unforced errors in the last few minutes of the game saw them losing 31-34 to U Mumba.
