Lucknow:  Dr. Akhilesh Das Gupta Memorial All India Senior Ranking Badminton Tournament was officially inaugurated today at the BBD UP Badminton Academy by Dr. Navneet Sehgal, President of the Uttar Pradesh Badminton Association and Chairman of Prasar Bharti.

The prestigious tournament has attracted an impressive more than 1500 entries, bringing together top talent from across the country.

Dr. Sehgal expressed his excitement at the sheer number of participants and the level of competition this event promises to deliver. “This tournament serves as a fitting tribute to Dr. Akhilesh Das Gupta’s contribution to sports in India, and I am thrilled to see so many athletes coming together to showcase their skills,” said Dr. Sehgal.

The tournament has commenced with four days of intense qualifying rounds, where players will battle it out to secure their spots in the main draw which starts on the 16th October. The BBD UP Badminton Academy, renowned for its world-class facilities, is serving as the perfect venue for this highly anticipated event.
