Bhubaneswar: The 1st International University Cricket Series, featuring India vs Australia started at KIIT. This series was inaugurated by the founder of KIIT, Dr. Achyuta Samanta.

This is the first-ever bilateral university cricket series in India, a proud milestone for sports at KIIT and in the country.

Dr. Achyuta Samanta, founder of KIIT said, “It is an honour to host this prestigious event at KIIT Cricket Stadium, a platform where young talents from two great cricketing nations come together, embodying the true spirit of sportsmanship and camaraderie.”

He further said, “A heartfelt thanks to the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) and everyone involved in bringing this vision to life. Looking forward to thrilling matches and unforgettable memories. Wishing both teams the very best!”

 

 15th KIIT International Chess Festival 2024 from today

KIIT is also hosting the 15th KIIT International Chess Festival 2024 from today.

The chess festival, with participants from across the globe, promises to celebrate strategy and intellect, with a grand prize pool of ₹60 lakh.

Dr. Samanta said, “Thanks to Association of Indian Universities for giving us this opportunity. Looking forward to welcoming players, coaches, arbiters, and guests to these incredible events that showcase the spirit of sportsmanship and excellence at KIIT!”
