New Delhi: On the occasion of International Day of Disability 2024 Special Olympics Bharat Uttar Pradesh, in collaboration with Citizens for Welfare State and with the support and
participation of the National Gallery of Modern Art (NGMA), organized an art and craft workshop titled “Srijan 3” for individuals with disabilities. This workshop invited children from Delhi-NCR and Uttar Pradesh who are working in the field of art and provided them with training through prominent national and international artists.The aim of this workshop was to enable these children with disabilities to enhance their artistic skills and gradually gain recognition on national and international platforms. Providing them equal importance as renowned artists remains a key endeavour of Special Olympics Bharat Uttar Pradesh.


The chief guest for the event was the Member of Parliament from East Delhi, Shri Manoj Tiwari Ji. During the program, he actively interacted with the children and expressed his gratitude to the program organizer, Shri Mukesh Shukla  for the invitation. He remarked,
“Whenever I get an opportunity, I will definitely participate in such programs for Divyangjan.”


The workshop was chaired by Dr. Mallika Nadda (President- Special Olympics Bharat). Dr Nadda praised the efforts of Special Olympics Bharat Uttar Pradesh and Delhi. She said such events have
the potential to bring transformative changes in the lives of individuals
with intellectual disabilities and promised to work toward expanding these initiatives further. Program coordinator Shri Mukesh Shukla  extended his gratitude to everyone for their contributions and announced that this initiative would not stop here. He shared plans for providing online art and craft training, distributing art and craft kits, and working on ensuring these children’s artwork reaches national and international platforms. He committed to personally tsaking responsibility for these efforts. Director General of NGMA, Shri Sanjeev Gautam Ji, emphasized that this program would continue uninterrupted. He assured full support from NGMA and affirmed that the collaboration with Citizens for Welfare State would persist for many years. He also approved the organization of the program again next year.The workshop saw participation from over 400 special children. Students from Jaypee Public School (Greater Noida), Divya Jyoti Dental College, Shaheed Bhagat Singh College (Delhi University), and volunteers from Kala Bhoomi also took part in the event.
The stage management was conducted by Mrs. Poonam Sharma and Sagar, a representative of Special Child Berlin Olympics, thanked everyone for their support.

Chief guest of the closing ceremony Shri R.K. Bhadauria, former Air Marshal, with participants and organizers.


The closing ceremony was graced by the presence of former Air Marshal Shri R.K. Bhadauria as the chief guest. He declared, “I assure you that after my retirement, I will dedicate myself to this cause. I will work towards establishing sports centres for individuals with disabilities in all special and regular schools affiliated with the armed forces and promote such activities further.”
