50th Goswami Ganesh Dutt Memorial Cricket Tournament (Regd.) 2025

Khel Today Bureau

New Delhi: The 50th edition of the prestigious Goswami Ganesh Dutt Memorial Cricket Tournament witnessed a high-octane T20 encounter on Thursday, as Delhi Challenger Cricket Club registered a comprehensive 71-run victory over Yorks Cricket Club.

After being put in to bat by Yorks Cricket Club, Delhi Challenger made the most of favorable batting conditions, amassing a formidable 226/7 in their allotted 20 overs. Opening the innings, Kunal Chandela stole the show with a blistering 64 off 34 balls, laced with 8 boundaries and 3 sixes, setting the tone for a strong total. He was well-supported by Kaif Ahmed, who crafted a steady 60 off 38 balls (4×6, 6×3), and Priyam Garg, who launched a late assault with a whirlwind 48 off just 17 deliveries, smashing 5 sixes and 4 fours.

Despite some breakthroughs from Yorks’ bowling unit—Aditya Yadav (2/31), Aman Chaudhary (2/34), and Jishan Adil (2/44)—Delhi’s aggressive strokeplay kept the scoreboard ticking rapidly.

In response, Yorks Cricket Club struggled to match the required rate against a disciplined Delhi bowling attack. Though Rohan Rana fought valiantly with a sparkling 77 off 44 balls (4×11, 6×2), his lone resistance wasn’t enough to chase down the target. The team was eventually bundled out for 155 in 18.2 overs.

Delhi Challenger’s bowlers put on an impressive show, with Juber leading the attack with 4/36, while Satyam Chauhan (2/21) and Shivam Sharma (2/23) provided excellent support.

Kimati Man of the Match: Kunal Chandela (64 off 34)

SG Fighter of the Match: Rohan Rana (77 off 44).

This emphatic win reinforces Delhi Challenger Cricket Club’s credentials as one of the tournament favorites, while Yorks Cricket Club will look to regroup ahead of their next fixture.
