Addya Katyal Smashes National Finals Record to Claim Gold in Junior Women’s Trap at 68th National Shooting Championship

New Delhi: Delhi’s young shooting sensation Addya Katyal delivered a stellar performance at the 68th National Shooting Championship Competitions (Shotgun), held at the Dr. Karni Singh Shooting Range in Delhi, by shattering the National Finals Record with 42 hits to secure the Gold medal in the Junior Women’s Trap event. Addya outclassed the field in a high-pressure final, edging out Sabeera Haris of Uttar Pradesh (41 hits, Silver) and Tanisska Senthilkumar of Tamil Nadu (28 hits, Bronze). Her record-breaking score marks a significant milestone in junior shotgun shooting in India.

Addya Katyal also contributed decisively to Delhi’s dominance in team events, helping secure Gold in the Junior Women’s Trap Team competition alongside Bhavya Tripathi and Ananya Yaduvanshi with a commanding combined score of 323.

Delhi shooters shone across multiple disciplines in the ongoing championship, which spans shotgun and pistol events in Delhi and rifle events in Bhopal.

Kirti Gupta claimed Silver in the Trap Women individual event, finishing just one point behind the gold medalist in a thrilling final.
Addya Katyal, Kirti Gupta, and Bhavya Tripathi earned Silver in the Trap Women Team event.
Mohd Adil won Silver in the Trap Master Men event. Harsh Gupta struck Gold in the 25m Standard Pistol event with a score of 579-18x.
Arpit Goel bagged Bronze in the 25m Rapid Fire Pistol Men Civilian Individual and Silver in the 25m Sport Pistol Men Civilian event.

Arpit Goel, Yashwant Kumar, and Raghav Verma secured Silver in the 25m Rapid Fire Pistol Men Civilian Team event.
Raghav Verma, Gajender Kumar Kamboj, and Arjun Verma clinched Gold in the 25m Rapid Fire Pistol Junior Men Civilian Team event.
Nikhil Kapoor earned Silver in the 50m Free Pistol (Deaf) event.
Nitesh took Bronze in the 25m Sport Pistol Junior Men Civilian event.

In rifle events at Bhopal: Rajshree Anilkumar Sancheti and Parth Makhija won Bronze in the 10m Air Rifle Men Mixed Team.
Man Mohan Singh (Delhi Police) claimed Gold in the 10m Rifle Master Men event. Vivek Anand, Daniyal Raza Zaidi, and Hardik Bhardwaj secured Bronze in the 50m Prone Men event.

Delhi State Rifle Association secretary Akshay Kumar Anand said, “These excellent results highlight Delhi’s growing strength in Indian shooting sports and showcase the emerging talented shooters from the capital. We hope that the dominance of Delhi shooters will increase even further in the future.”
