Silver Bandits 2 Clinch Title After Dramatic Playoff Finish

New Delhi: Team Silver Bandits 2 pulled off a magnificent win beating defending champions Golden Bullets in the second play-off hole to annexe the Delhi Golf Club Golden Members League 2026.

The inaugural addition of the League in 2025, witnessed these very two teams clash in the Finals, with Golden Bandits triumphing.

Earlier the teams has tied with three wins each to ensure a play-off.
The opening playoff hole produced immediate drama as Achal Nath (Golden Bullets) and JP Hundal (Silver Bandits 2) matched each other with pars, forcing the contest into a second sudden-death hole. With the title hanging in the balance, the par-4 second playoff hole delivered a tense finish that ultimately decided the championship in favour of Silver Bandits 2.
On the decisive hole, Madhu Mishra (Golden Bullets), found the left fairway bunker off the tee, and his following shot left him in a tricky lie behind the cart path to the right of the green before he chipped to just off the putting surface.

Nath’s drive settled on the right side of the fairway and he chipped onto the green to about 20 feet left of the pin. Meanwhile, JP Hundal split the fairway and placed his second shot in the rough five feet from the edge of the green. Nath rolled his long putt to within three feet and needed to convert the short attempt to extend the match to a third playoff hole, but the putt lipped out, sealing a hard-fought title victory for Silver Bandits 2.

The League celebrates the spirit of golf among the club’s distinguished members above 70 years of age and they continued to produce a blend of consistency, experience, and moments of brilliance on the course. The Finals was played in the Four Ball Better Ball Matchplay team format ensuring that depth, strategy and teamwork remained the crucial factors in determining the outcome.
