New Delhi: Sporting Club entered in the final of the 41st All India Laxman Das Chhabra Memorial Cricket Tournament defeating Sehgal Cricket Club by 6 runs in a thrilling semi-final played at St. Stephen Ground, Mori Gate.

The match turned out to be a high-scoring thriller with outstanding performances from both teams.

Batting first, Sporting Club posted a massive total of 372/8 in 40 overs. Abhinay played a sensational knock of 92 runs off 51 balls with 4 fours and 8 sixes. Former IPL player Deepak Punia smashed 68 runs off just 29 balls, including 6 fours and 5 sixes. Rishabh Drall contributed 69 runs, while Kunal Sangwan and Shivam Gupta added 48 runs each. Vision Panchal also chipped in with a quickfire 23 runs off 14 balls, hitting 3 fours and 1 six.

With the ball, Sporting Club bowlers played a key role in the victory. Sushil Kumar claimed 4 wickets for 85 runs, while Lalit Yadav took 2 wickets for 60 runs. Vision Panchal delivered an impressive all-round performance with 2 wickets for 44 runs, and Deepak Punia also picked up 2 wickets conceding 58 runs.

Chasing the huge target of 373, Sehgal Cricket Club fought hard but were bowled out for 365 runs in 37.5 overs. Pankaj Jaswal played a blistering innings of 95 runs off just 34 balls, smashing 6 fours and 10 sixes. Prince Yadav scored 91 runs off 60 balls with 15 fours and 2 sixes, while Dhiru Singh added 38 runs, but their efforts were not enough to secure victory.

After the match, the UST Man of the Match award was presented to Vision Panchal by umpire Krishan Kumar Bali and Mohinder Chhabra. The Fighter of the Match award was presented to Pankaj Jaswal by Krishan Kumar Bali and Mohinder Chhabra.

With this thrilling win, Sporting Club advanced to the final where they will face Bal Bhavan Dwarka.
