Parunika Sisodia Leads Big Buys as Franchises Build Power-Packed Squads at DPL 2026 Women’s Auction

New Delhi:The Delhi Premier League (DPL) T20 continued its remarkable growth journey with an action-packed women’s auction for the upcoming third season held in New Delhi on Wednesday. Building on the success of its previous editions, the women’s competition has quickly emerged as one of the country’s most exciting domestic platforms, with franchises making significant investments to secure Delhi’s finest talent and promising young cricketers.

The DPL 2026 women’s auction witnessed intense bidding wars, strategic Right to Match (RTM) moves and marquee signings, reflecting the growing stature of the league and the increasing value attached to women’s cricket in the capital. With a healthy blend of international exposure, domestic experience and emerging stars, all four franchises have assembled balanced squads capable of producing a fiercely competitive season.

Notably, the marquee player pool attracted considerable interest. East Delhi Riders strengthened their squad with Parunika Sisodia and Simran Dil Bahadur, while Central Delhi Queens added Arushi Goel to partner retained marquee all-rounder Soni Yadav. North Delhi Strikers bolstered their bowling attack with Priya Mishra alongside retained marquee player Ayushi Soni, while South Delhi Superstarz signed India batter Priya Punia, complementing retained India U-19 star Shweta Sehrawat.

The auction’s biggest buy was left-arm spinner Parunika Sisodia, who was acquired by East Delhi Riders for ₹14 lakh, while all-rounder Arushi Goel was snapped up by Central Delhi Queens for ₹11 lakh.

The top seven costliest players at the auction were:

Parunika Sisodia – East Delhi Riders – ₹14 lakh

Arushi Goel – Central Delhi Queens – ₹11 lakh

Sumiti Soni – Central Delhi Queens – ₹8 lakh

Simran Dil Bahadur – East Delhi Riders – ₹8 lakh

Purva Siwach – East Delhi Riders – ₹7 lakh

Samaira Raghav – North Delhi Strikers – ₹7 lakh

Pragya Rawat – East Delhi Riders – ₹7 lakh

Franchises also strategically exercised their Right to Match (RTM) cards to retain proven performers from last season. East Delhi Riders brought back Pragya Rawat for ₹7 lakh, while North Delhi Strikers used RTM to re-sign all-rounder Samaira Raghav for ₹7 lakh.

By the end of the auction, all four franchises assembled balanced squads featuring a blend of experienced performers and promising young talent, setting the stage for a highly competitive edition of the DPL T20 2026 Women’s competition.
