New Delhi: The 16th DGC Junior/Sub-Junior Golf Tournament 2026, presented by USHA, began on Tuesday at the Delhi Golf Club. The tee-off was done by Keya Badugu in the presence of Mr. Raj Khosla, President DGC and Sonaal Chaudhri, Lady Captain at DGC. 162 golfers, aged between 7 and 21 years, are participating in this prestigious three-day, 18-holes-per-day tournament played on both the Lodhi and Peacock Courses. Usha’s longstanding association with the Delhi Golf Club underpins its commitment to the inclusive growth and development of the sport in India.

A true test of skill, focus, and determination, this tournament will see some of India’s most promising young golfers in action, including Rakshit Dahiya, Yogya Bhalla, Shan Alvi, Raza Kaur, Chaitanya Pandey, Ayesha Gupta, Rashi Mishra and Ranveer Mitroo. Staying true to its ethos, the Delhi Golf Club in association with Usha has waived entry fees for over 30 underprivileged players, providing additional services including coaching, on-the-course practice and caddies for the participants. This includes 2 differently abled players with aspirations to qualify for the Para-Olympics in the near future.

Commenting on the event, Komal Mehra, Head – Sports Initiatives and Associations at Usha International, said, “This tournament has grown into much more than a competition—it’s a celebration of inclusivity, opportunity, and the joy of golf. We’re proud to support young talent from all backgrounds and inspire more children to step outdoors, stay active, and discover the game. It reflects the spirit of golf and Usha’s commitment to promoting healthy, active living for everyone.”

Mrs Sonaal Chaudhri, Lady Captain at DGC said, “The enthusiasm, discipline, and perseverance demonstrated by these young golfers are truly inspiring. It is particularly heartening to see so many youngsters from various socio-economic backgrounds coming together and bonding over a common passion, underscoring the growing inclusivity of the sport. We are proud to have Usha onboard to support an initiative that nurtures talent and empowers the next generation of golfers to realise their full potential.”
