Mirabai Chanu Clinches Silver Medal at Asian Games

Indian athletes also won four bronze medals on Wednesday.  In Soft Tennis Jay Meena, men’s Badminton team, men’s and women’s Skeet Shooting teams won bronze medals.

Aichi-Nagoya: Mirabai Chanu wins a silver medal at Asian Games 2026. After Karnam Malleshwari, Mirabai Chanu becomes the 2nd Indian weightlifter to win a medal in all major international weightlifting events i.e. Olympics, Asian Games, Commonwealth Games, World Championships, Asian & Commonwealth Championships.

Mirabai cleared 87kg in the snatch round before clearing 111kg in the clean and jerk round, finishing second with an overall score of 198kg. She finished behind North Korea’s Ri Song Gum, who sealed gold with a total score of 215kg. Indonesia’s Wijayana Luluk won bronze medal with a score of 191kg.

In the last edition of Asian Games 2022, Mirabai had finished 4th.
