New Delhi, 10 October 2026: Delhi Golf Club, one of India’s most prestigious sporting institutions, will now be led by a team with an exceptional sporting pedigree. The recently concluded Delhi Golf Club elections have brought together a remarkable group of accomplished sportspersons, national champions, professional golfers and coaches to lead one of India’s most prestigious sporting institutions.

Amandeep Johl, the newly elected Captain, is a former National Golf Champion, National Coach and professional golfer, with an association spanning 50 years in the game of golf.

He is joined by an equally distinguished group of sporting personalities:

Gaurav Ghei – A highly accomplished professional golfer and the first Indian to compete in a men’s Major Championship, with a distinguished international professional career.
Mansher Singh – An Arjuna Awardee and celebrated international shooting champion who has represented India at the highest levels.
Karan Atwal – A former Junior National Golf Champion with a strong competitive golfing background.
Vikram Sethi – A former National Golf Coach with extensive experience in coaching and developing golfing talent.

What makes this committee particularly special is that it brings together individuals who have not merely played the game but have lived it, competed at the highest levels, represented India and contributed to the development of sport.

Their collective experience brings a profound understanding of golf, course conditions, player expectations, sporting excellence and the traditions of the game.

For the Delhi Golf Club, this committee represents an opportunity to combine sporting knowledge with sound administration, ensuring that the interests of members, the quality of the golf course and the Club’s rich sporting legacy remain at the forefront.

Speaking on the occasion, Amandeep Johl, Captain, Delhi Golf Club, said, “This committee brings together people who have competed, coached and represented India at the highest levels. We want to combine that sporting knowledge with sound administration so that Delhi Golf Club remains a place members are proud of and a course worthy of its legacy.”

It is perhaps fitting that India’s premier golf club should be led by people who have dedicated their lives to sport. A committee of sportspersons, for a club built on sport.
