New Delhi: IBPA (Integrated Basketball Players Association) formerly known as Indian Basketball Players Association, in it’s General Body meeting held at Chennai on last Sunday,elected Mr.Jayasankar Menon, former Asian All star Basketball player and former captain of Indian team as President of IBPA, Mr. J.Balakrishnan, former International Player as Secretary General and Mr.Ajay Bedi, National Player from Delhi as Treasurer of IBPA.

The Association is guided by Mr.Sajjan Singh Cheema, Arjuna Awardee, Mr.Abbas Montassir Arjuna awardee and Mr Ashok Verghese, Director of Hindustan University as Patrons.

IBPA is a registered Association having many International players, Olympians, Arjuna awardees and captains of Indian basketball.

IBPA was formed in the year 2015. After the formation IBPA organised Dribblethon at Delhi, by inviting more than 600 kids at India gate New Delhi and have been promoting under Privileged children in rural areas. We have been promoting basketball and showed their intent clearly for the welfare of the players and the game.

During pandemic lockdown period, IBPA continued its efforts by organising series of e-conclaves and discussed on important topics on professional league, School and college league, Khelo India initiatives, Strength and Conditioning training, awareness on anti doping, media’s role in promotion of the game etc.,

Each conclave had International experts to discuss on these topics. Coaches from USA, Spain, Italy, Jamaica, Trainers from USA and sports physicians from India and abroad were sharing their knowledge which were very useful to the players, coaches and trainers of the game.

Cream of the crop was participation of Shri.Kiren Rijiju, MOS of Youth affairs & Sports(then). He appreciated the efforts taken by IBPA in promoting the game. He promised to utilize the services of IBPA in spotting the right talents.

Main objective of IBPA is to take care of welfare of the players and to promote the game of Basketball using the experience of more than 100 Basketball legends under their belt.

We are ready in supporting BFI, State Associations and District associations in all activities right from coaching to Mentoring youngsters.

IBPA congratulate Tamilnadu Basketball Association and BFI for the successful conduct of the just concluded Nationals where they have provided excellent facilities to the players.

We are really heartened to see the encouragement given by TNBA to the champions by way of Cash prizes and gifts like Cars, Bikes etc.
