New Delhi: Cricket, cards and liquor are three arms of the Delhi & District Cricket Association. The officials of the DDCA always show that they are fully dedicated to developing cricket in the capital of the country. DDCA officials, besides cricket, are also putting their full efforts into providing liquor in areas other than the bar room for the members, so that cricket lovers can watch live cricket matches with the taste of liquor at Arun Jaitley Stadium.

In a recent development, DDCA is soon likely to receive an L38 Excise licence to serve liquor in designated areas other than the bar room. Through a text message, forwarded in a WhatsApp group, Mrs. Shashi Khanna, Vice President, DDCA and member of the Club Committee, has informed the members. “Dear All, It gives me immense pleasure to share with you all that DDCA is soon likely to receive an L38 Excise licence to serve liquor in designated areas other than the bar room. We must thank and appreciate the farsightedness of the President, Shri Rohan Jaitley Ji, and the entire Apex Council for getting this licence applied, which will enable us to serve liquor in areas other than bars as per guidelines and rules. I also take this opportunity to thank my colleague Harish Singla and his brother Deepak Singla for all the help they have extended in obtaining a bar licence and pursuing this licence”.

The bar at DDCA was reopened after a gap of almost eight years. It was alleged that the licence of the bar was  cancelled in 2013, because liquor was served on Dry Day (October 2, Gandhi Jayanti). Several attempts were made all these years to get the licence again, but all efforts were thrown out of the window by the authorities. Recently,  after being re-elected as President of DDCA, Rohan Jaitley had a meeting with Manish Sisodia, Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi and got the licence for the bar room.
