New Delhi: Three Indian boxers created history as they assured at least a bronze medal each by reaching the semi-finals in their respective categories at the IBA Men’s Boxing World Championship in Tashkent, Uzbekistan on Wednesday. Deepak Bhoria (51kg), Hussamuddin (57kg) and Nishant Dev (71kg) have won their quarter final bouts.

The Indian men’s boxers have secured three medals for the first time in the history of the World Boxing Championships.

Earlier, the best performance of the Indian men’s boxers was recorded in 2019 when Manish Kaushik and Amit Panghal clinched medals for the country.
