New Delhi: India emerged victorious in the PD Champions Trophy 2025 final, defeating England by a resounding 79 runs at the FTZ Cricket Grounds in Katunayake.

This crowning achievement capped off an impressive tournament run, showcasing the team’s consistency, resilience, and exceptional skills.

Batting first, India set a challenging target of 131 runs, driven by a powerful knock from Yogendra Bhadoria, who smashed 40 off just 22 balls, featuring four boundaries and five sixes. Captain Vikrant Keni anchored the innings with a steady 27, while Majid’s unbeaten 19 ensured a strong finish. England’s Liam O’Brien and Alex Hammond took two wickets apiece but struggled to contain India’s dominant batting.

In response, England faltered against India’s disciplined bowling attack, collapsing for just 51 runs in 19.2 overs. Radhika Prasad delivered a match-winning spell, claiming four wickets for 17 runs, while Ravindra Sante and Vikrant Keni chipped in with two wickets each. England’s captain Callum Flynn fought valiantly with 23 runs, but received little support from the rest of the batting lineup.

Sminu Jindal, Founder-Chairperson of Svayam, praised the team’s success, saying, “What a proud moment for Team India! Their exceptional journey throughout the tournament displays their focus and talent as a unit. Svayam is honored to have supported their efforts and remains committed to enabling such inspiring sportsmen to reach new heights. Every player contributed to this success, and I couldn’t be prouder of this incredible group. A heartfelt thanks to Svayam for their invaluable support and sponsorship, which has been instrumental in our journey.”

India’s consistent performance throughout the tournament, coupled with their ability to rise to the occasion in critical moments, has cemented their position as champions.
