Khelo India Women’s Fencing League gets under way in the national capital

New Delhi: The Khelo India Women’s Fencing League got under way on March 19 at the IG Sports Complex in New Delhi and will take place until March 23, 2024.

This league sees around 350 female fencers across the senior, junior and cadet categories compete for a total prize money of Rs 17.10 Lakh. The league serves as a crucial platform for India’s up-and-coming female fencers to showcase their talent and compete at a high level.

The Khelo India Women’s leagues, which is into its 3rd edition, has played a pivotal role in increasing the participation of women in Sports by organising various leagues. A total of 526 events have been held across 21 sports disciplines since 2022.

The leagues are utilized as a platform for Identification of new talents and evaluation of existing Khelo India Athletes. They also provide competition exposure to women athletes of different age categories across the country.
