New Delhi: Thrilling finals and nail-biting finishes marked Day Three of the 36th Senior National Fencing Championship at the K.D. Jadhav Hall, Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium, as India’s finest fencers delivered exceptional performances across two high-intensity individual
events.

Men’s Individual Épée: SSCB Clinches Gold In a commanding display of precision and timing, Joshy Aloshious of SSCB captured the gold medal, defeating Lokesh Vemani 15–11 in a high-quality final.
Earlier in the semifinals, Aloshious outplayed Sohil Sufyan Wahid 15–9, while Vemani edged past R. Sherjin of Tamil Nadu with a close 15–13 victory.

Women’s Individual Sabre: J&K’s Shreya Gupta Triumphs in a Classic Duel
The women’s sabre final produced the most electrifying bout of the day, with Shreya Gupta of Jammu & Kashmir clinching the gold medal in a dramatic 15–14 thriller against J.S. Jafarlin of Tamil Nadu.

In the semifinals, Gupta defeated Sanya of Punjab 15–8, while Jafarlin overcame Aakhri of Haryana in another tight 15–14 finish.
Both finals showcased India’s rising depth in fencing—with powerful attacks, sharp counter-actions and exceptional tactical discipline on display.
