Ivins, Utah: Sahith Theegala continued his encouraging form at the Bank of Utah Championship, carding a 4-under 67 in the second round to move into a tie for eighth at 7-under overall.

The second round was suspended early due to fading light, with several players yet to complete their rounds. Theegala had begun the day tied for 24th after the opening round.

The 26-year-old Californian recovered well from an early setback when he bogeyed the fourth hole after missing a 12-footer for par. He quickly steadied himself with three birdies in the next five holes, highlighted by a fine 15-foot conversion on the par-4 sixth. Further gains on the 14th and 18th helped him sign off with a 67, placing him in contention heading into the weekend.

After an injury-hit regular season that saw him miss the FedExCup Playoffs for the first time in his career, Theegala is using the Fall Series to regain momentum. The American, who has one PGA Tour title, had been sidelined earlier this year with an oblique injury followed by neck trouble, both of which forced swing changes. With his game trending positively, a strong finish in Utah — and in the remaining Fall events — could significantly boost his ranking ahead of 2026.

At the top of the leaderboard, Michael Brennan, a 22-year-old who recently graduated from the PGA TOUR Americas, surged into the lead with a superb 6-under 65. Playing on a sponsor’s exemption, Brennan’s round included a spectacular 40-foot eagle putt on the par-5 ninth, giving him a one-stroke advantage when play was halted in darkness.

Chasing him are Pierceson Coody (64), Jackson Suber (67), and Justin Lower (67), all tied at 9-under. In the FedExCup standings, Suber sits 127th, Lower 129th, and Coody 133rd — each battling to stay inside the top 100 by season’s end to retain full playing privileges for 2026.

First-round leader Thorbjørn Olesen followed up his opening 65 with a 70 to reach 7-under, currently sharing eighth place with Theegala.
