On Friday morning first match of the 2nd Hockey India Senior Men Inter-Department National Championship 2022 will start at 7am at Major Dhyan Chand Stadium, New Delhi

New Delhi: Hockey with Sunrise! You may find it interesting to read but it’s true. Sunrise time for Friday is 6.58am and the first match of the 2nd Hockey India Senior Men Inter-Department National Championship 2022 will start at 7am between Punjab National Bank and Sashastra Seema Bal at Major Dhyan Chand Stadium.

Do you think that Hockey lovers will come to stadium to watch this match? When ‘Khel Today’ asked this question during the press conference organized by PSPB on Thursday,  the reply of Lalit Kumar Watts, Adviser, PSPB  was, “We have to complete this tournament in 9 days, including a rest day, so Hockey India has prepared this schedule but people can watch all the matches from  2 to 10 December, sitting in their home, on ‘MYY SPORTS’ APP. ”

Sangram Singh Rawat, Vice President- Distribution & Alliances, MyySports Private Limited, explained, ” Anyone can watch Hockey matches live on MyySports app, this is a sports- tech start-up which provides creator tools for millions of Sports lovers to score, live stream, watch and archive matches using their smart phones. Our men will do the commentary and inform you about the goal scorers and every moment of the matches.”

Press conference was jointly addressed by Gautam Vadera, Joint Secretary, PSPB, Lalit Kumar Watts, Adviser, PSPB, Former India Goalkeepers Romeo James & Devesh Chauhan, Sangram Singh Rawat, Vice President- Distribution & Alliances, MyySports Private Limited and Mahesh Dayal, organizing Secretary. Anil Panchal and Arvind Chhabra were also present.

A total of sixteen teams are divided in four Pools and each team will play three Pool matches. Top two teams from each Pool will qualify for the Quarter Finals and four teams will enter Semi Finals and the winner two teams will fight for the championship Trophy on December 10.

According to Gautam Vadera, ” PSPB is organizing tournaments in many other sports also and putting all efforts to uplift the sporting culture in the country.”

Devesh Chauhan said, “India campers will not be playing in this championship but more than 50 international and national level players of different teams will show their skill.”

The opening ceremony will take place at 1.30pm.
