New Delhi: Hockey writer K Arumugam’s 14th book, ‘MARCH OF GLORY: The story of 1975 World Cup triumph’ co-authored with Journalist Errol D’Cruz was released on Tuesday jointly by Dr Dilip Tirkey, President of Hockey India, World Cup 1975 Gold medallists, Ashok Kumar and HJS Chimni.

A function was organized here at  Shivaji stadium. Former Olympic captain Zafar Iqbal, World Cup player Bharat Chhikara, Dronacharya awardees Narinder Singh Saini and AK Bansal were among the dignitaries present, besides about 300 young hockey players.

This book captures the drama around India’s memorable victory in Kuala Lumpur, beating Pakistan 2-1 in the final.

Former India captain and President, Hockey India Dr Dilip Tirkey said, “I am sure this book has details that even we don’t know. There is a paucity of literature on Indian hockey and I am glad someone has stepped forward to record our achievements that will inspire the coming generations.”
