Team India clinches a thrilling 10–9 victory in a nail-biting match at Jaipur Polo Ground

New Delhi: The prestigious KogniVera International Polo Cup 2025 witnessed a spectacular display of skill, speed, and sportsmanship as Team India triumphed over Team Argentina 10–9 in an electrifying match held at the iconic Jaipur Polo Ground, New Delhi.

The event drew a distinguished audience of over a thousand guests, including Shri. Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, Hon’ble Union Minister for Tourism, who graced the occasion as Chief Guest. The gathering also saw the presence of Mr. Kiren Rijiju, Hon’ble Minister of Parliamentary Affairs and Minister of Minority Affairs, MP from Arunachal Pradesh; Shri. Naveen Jindal, Chairman of Jindal Steel and Power, Member of Parliament, Kurukshetra and polo patron, celebrated poet Dr. Kumar Vishwas; Lt. Gen. V.M.B. Krishnan, Quarter Master General, Indian Army; and Ambassadors and diplomats from several nations, underscoring the global stature of the event.

Cheered on by an enthusiastic crowd, Team India, led by Sawai Padmanabh Singh of Jaipur, delivered a commanding performance against the formidable Argentine side. From precision strikes to strategic plays, the match embodied the very essence of international polo with passion, power, and partnership.

The Kognivera International Polo match played between India and Argentina was a very hard fought match. Both teams were combined well and displayed superb horsemanship and stick work even Argentine players played on borrowed horses. The match was played in full gallop. Spectators enjoyed the match throughout the evening. India started their match with 1 goal on handicap and scored 1 goal in 1st chukker through Mr Siddhant Sharma. In the 2nd chukker Sawai Padmanabh Singh scored 2 goals, Shamsheer Ali scored 1 goal and Siddhant Sharma scored 1 goal for India while Salvador Jauretche scored 2 goals for Argentina. In the 3rd chukker Shamsheer Ali scored one goal for India whereas Juan Agustin Grossi scored and Salvador Jauretche scored one goal each for Argentina. In the 4th chukker. Shamsheer again scored one goal for India while Salvador Jauretche scored 2 goals and Juan Agustin Grossi scored one goal for Argentina. In the 5th and final chukker Siddhant Sharma and Sawai Padmanabh Singh scored one goal each for India whereas Alejo Aramburu scored 2 goals for Argentina. Scorers for India were – Siddhant Sharma (3), Sawai Padmanabh Singh (3), Shamsheer Ali (3) and started with 1 goal on handicap. Scorers for Argentina were – Salvador Jauretche (5), Alejo Aramburu (2), Juan Agustin Grossi (2).
