KogniVera International Polo Cup Kicks-Off with Trophy Launch Ahead of India–Argentina Face-Off

Star players and dignitaries come together in Delhi to mark the beginning of an iconic sporting encounter

New Delhi: The glory of polo and international sporting fraternity was exemplified here on Wednesday with KogniVera IT Solutions and Indian Polo Association (IPA) holding a joint press conference and trophy launch of the KogniVera International Polo Cup at the Army Equestrian Centre, Delhi Cantonment.

This event included the official presentation of Team India and Team Argentina, creating a sense of expectation of a keen clash between two of the global top polo line-ups.

The highlight of the evening was the unveiling of the stunning KogniVera International Polo Cup trophy that embodies the very essence of competition, and the joint heritage and camaraderie between India and Argentina two countries that share and bond over a love of the sport of kings. On this occasion were invited guests, dignitaries, and members of the fourth estate who gathered to bear witness to the official launch of one of the polo calendar’s most eagerly awaited games.

Representing Team India are Simran Shergill, Shamsheer Ali, Sawai Padmanabh Singh, and Siddhant Sharma. Facing them on the field is Team Argentina, which comprises Juan Augustin Garcia Grossi, Salvador Jauretche, Matias Bautista Espasandin, and Nicolas Jorge Corti Maderna. Collectively, the two teams are poised to deliver a spectacular contest characterized by strategy, strength, and horsemanship.

There was also a panel discussion with Mr. Kamlesh Sharma, Managing Director & CEO, KogniVera IT Solutions and Lt. General Rajinder Dewan, QMG, Indian Army, along with members of both teams. In this discussion, the coming together of heritage, technology, and sportsmanship was highlighted and how such international events bolster India’s presence in the global polo circuit.
