Optiemus Achievers clinch prestigious Indian Masters Polo Championship 2025 title on Sunday hosted by India Sotheby’s International Realty at Jaipur Polo Ground

New Delhi: Optiemus Achievers defeated Jindal-Delta-Carysil by 9-6 in the final match of India Sotheby’s International Realty Indian Masters Polo Championship (14-goal) polo tournament 2025, at the Jaipur Polo Ground on Sunday.

The championship started on November 02, 2025, total three teams, Jindal Panther, Jindal-Delta-Carysil and Optiemus Achievers, participated in the championship this year.

The inaugural match of this 14-goal tournament played between Jindal Panther and Jindal-Delta-Carysil. The final match was played on November 02,2025 between Jindal-Delta-Carysil with Optiemus Achievers emerging victorious.

Mr Shamsheer Ali, adjudged the Most Valuable Player and Mare Burfi, ridden by Mr. Shamsheer Ali adjudged the Best Polo Pony.

The umpires for the tournament were Mr. Henry Fisher and Mr. Ben Turner, ensuring fair play and adherence to the rules. The Tournament Committee was coordinated by Maj Vikram Singh Rathore (Retd.), Capt. (IN) A.P. Singh and Mr. Deepak Udar. Mr. Rajesh Sahgal, the Chairman of the Tournament Committee, whose invaluable guidance played a key role in bringing this prestigious polo event to life.

The final match was attended by approximately 700 guests with Rajesh Kumar Singh, IAS, Defense Secretary as the chief guest and more than 30 VIPs including Mohit Gujral, Shallu Jindal, Sonica Malhotra Kandhari and Naveen Kandhari, Kitty and Navneet Kalra, Jyotika Jhalani, Soni Aggarwal, Neelam Pratap Rudy, Pankaj Munjal, Reshma Punj, Ameeta Seth, Vivek Burman, Aditya Burman, Fatima Karan among others.

Among other dignitaries present were H.E Sheikh Ahmed Bin Nooh Al Thani, Secretary General, Qatar Equestrian Federation, H.E Juan Angulo Monsalve (Ambassador of Chile), H.E Antonio Bartoli (Ambassador of Italy), H.E Lindy Cameron (High Commissioner of United Kingdom) and H.E Jan Thesleff (Ambassador of Sweden)

The Indian Polo Association had introduced the tournament ‘The Indian Masters Trophy’ in the 2012-13 season and since then was played at 14 goals. The inaugural tournament was played from 20 Nov to 25 Nov 2012 in Delhi. Five Teams participated in the 1st year and Sahara Warriors won the inaugural tournament. General Bikram Singh, PVSM, UYSM, AVSM, SM, VSM, ADC, Chief of the Army Staff and President IPA was the Chief Guest for the tournament. Since then, it has regularly been played in Delhi during the Delhi Fall Polo Season. The tournament is considered one of the finest and most competitive tournaments in the IPA Calendar.
