New Delhi: Indian table tennis star Manika Batra recently visited the office of Delhi’s newly appointed Chief Minister, Rekha Gupta, to discuss key issues surrounding sports development in the city. The meeting highlighted the future of sports policies in Delhi, with a particular focus on empowering grassroots athletes and improving the welfare of state athletes.

“Had the honor of meeting the newly appointed Hon’ble Chief Minister of Delhi, Rekha Gupta ji, today. We had a productive discussion on the new sports policies in Delhi, focusing on the development of grassroots athletes and the welfare of athletes from the state. It was encouraging to see the commitment towards enhancing sports infrastructure, providing better opportunities for young athletes, and strengthening grassroots programs to create a more robust sporting culture in Delhi. A big thank you to Hon’ble CM Rekha Gupta ji for this insightful conversation and for championing the cause of sports development,” Batra shared after the meeting.
