New Delhi: Lady Shri Ram College and Ramjas College have won their opening match in the PSPB 4th Baba Deep Singh Basketball Tournament.
The basketball tournament was inaugurated by Chief Guest International Basketball Coach & Air Force Veteran Shri Pradeep Tomar and Principal of host Shri Guru Teg Bahadur Khalsa College Professor Gurmohinder Singh.
In the women’s category, Lady Shri Ram College defeated Kirori Mal college 38-28 and the Player of the Match award was given to Anvi of Lady Shri Ram College. Ramjas College defeated Hansraj College 39-28 and Anika of Ramjas College became the Player of the Match.
In the men’s category, Hansraj College defeated Ramjas College 54-40 and Anubhav of Hansraj College became the Player of the Match. Kirori Mal College defeated Dyal Singh College 54-51 and Anas of Kirori Mal College became the Player of the Match.
Sri Guru Teg Bahadur Khalsa College defeated Bharat Academy 69-63 and Nitin Hooda of the winning team got the Player of the Match award.
In the men’s category match, on the fourth day of the hockey competition, Indira Gandhi Institute of Physical Education and Sports Sciences defeated Kirori Mal College 7-0. Pulkit Sharma scored 4 goals and Gurmukh Singh, Bhupinder and Chiranjeev scored one goal each from Indira Gandhi Institute of Physical Education and Sports Sciences. The Player of the Match award was given to Pulkit Sharma of Indira Gandhi Institute.
In the women’s category match, Indira Gandhi Institute of Physical Education and Sports Sciences defeated Bharti College 8-0. Pinky and Meena scored 2 goals each and Kanchan, Anchal, Neha Rani and Bindu scored one goal each from the winning team Indira Gandhi Institute of Physical Education and Sports Sciences and the Player of the Match award was given to Pinky of Indira Gandhi Institute.
