Hon’ble Minister for Information & Broadcasting and Youth Affairs & Sports, inaugurated 7th All India Police Judo Cluster-2022 organized by CISF at Indira Gandhi Sports Complex, New Delhi.

New Delhi: “Players participating in the All India Police Judo Cluster are playing for their respective police forces and will compete each other but tomorrow they will play for India, so all the spectators should praise all of them while they are competing here in this Cluster” – This message was given by Shri Anurag Singh Thakur, Hon’ble Minister for Information & Broadcasting and Youth Affairs & Sports, in his address, while inaugurating the 7th All India Police Judo Cluster-2022, organized by CISF here at K D Jadhav stadium in Indira Gandhi Sports Complex Stadium.

During the opening ceremony, Shri Thakur asked all the participants and officers to say loudly ‘Bharat Mata ki jai’ and ‘Vande Mataram’.

He also laid emphasis on the importance of sports and Fitness in everyone’s life and praised the contribution of players from Police forces in raising the Indian Tricolour in International sporting Championships.

He said, “This is a unique gesture by our sports loving Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji, that he would meet players before big sporting events to give his best wishes and speak to them during the games and after the games invites them to his residence. Perhaps no other previous Prime Minister had ever done that”.

Shri Thakur also said, ” As Prime Minister Modi ji says, we have to work together on co-operative federalism and competitive federalism. With the increase in this competition performance of our players will also increase in different parts of the world”.

In a glittering opening ceremony on Monday evening Shri Anurag Singh Thakur, declared open the 7th All India Police Judo Cluster-2022.

Sports and games have formed an integral part of police training curriculum. Maintaining physical fitness and good health are of paramount importance to police personnel in performing their arduous duties. Sports play a vital role in maintaining the desired physical standards amongst the police personnel.- Sheel Vardhan Singh, DG CISF

 

41 teams consisting of about 1580 players & 270 officials from Central Police Forces and State Police are participating in this Cluster.

Shri Anurag Singh Thakur was welcomed by Shri Sheel Vardhan Singh, DG CISF. All the guests were also given a warm welcome.
While addressing, Shri Sheel Vardhan Singh, DG CISF expressed his gratitude to Shri Anurag Singh Thakur, for sparing his valuable time for the Opening Ceremony of the Cluster. He also said that Sports and games have formed an integral part of police training curriculum. Maintaining physical fitness and good health are of paramount importance to police personnel in performing their arduous duties. Sports play a vital role in maintaining the desired physical standards amongst the police personnel.


Shri Anurag Singh Thakur, applauded the role being played by CISF in arranging National level sporting event. Such pan-Indian sporting events promote inter police force camaraderie and coordination.

He also laid emphasis on the importance of sports and praised the contribution of players from Police forces for raising the tricolour in International Championships. He also appreciated the duties being performed by CISF at Airports and Delhi Metro Rail. He said that the CISF personnel are performing duties at airports with dedication and their behaviour is courteous with the passengers.

The programme concluded with electrifying display of Manipuri martial art ‘Thang Ta’ and mesmerising performance by Kathak dancers of Sangeet Natak Academy,  enthralled the audience.
