Lucknow: The qualifying draw for the Uttar Pradesh Open ITF $25K Men’s International tournament has brought some intriguing second-round results in what promises to be a thrilling tournament at Ekana International Tennis Stadium.

Indians had a mixed day on the court as the matches saw a delayed start due to rain. Asian Games bronze medalist Vishnu Vardhan beat Chirag Duhan by 6-4,6-3. Faisal Qamar (India) sailed through easily with a 6-4,6-2 win over Tommy Czaplinski (USA). Yash Chaurasia (India) defeated Kelsey Stevenson (Canada) by 6-1,7-6(6) and L.Bathrinath defeated top-seed Jacob Bradshaw by 7-5,1-2 (retired).

Stijin Pel (Ned) beat Ranjeet Virali-Murugesan (India) by 6-4,7-6 (4), Grigory Lomakin (Kaz) beat Suraj R Prabodh (India) by 7-6 (3),6-0, Woobin Shin (Korea) beat Theertha Shashan Machlera (India) by 7-5,6-4 and Pruchya Isaro (Thailand) got the better of Indian Shivank Bhatnagar beating him in the super tie-break.

Home favourite Lakshit Sood will be looking to go one step further and raise the roof as he plays Rishi Reddy next.
