DELHI GOLF CLUB MEMBERS LEAGUE POWERED BY RADICO DAY-3

NEW DELHI: Bajaj Foundation came from behind to beat Dayal Opticals in what was a sea saw contest on day-three of the 5th Edition of the ‘Delhi Golf Club Members League – powered by Radico’.

The League, being played at the historic par-72 Delhi Golf Club course, features 16 days of hard-fought golf and will conclude in a Grand Finale on April 18, 2026.

Dayal Opticals took on Bajaj Foundation in the third contest of the day. Dayal Opticals registered a win in the opening game and the second game was tied. Bajaj Foundation came back with a bang to win the third game. Dayal Opticals fought back to win the fourth game but Bajaj Foundation changed gear to register wins in the final three games to tally 9 points as against Dayal Opticals’ 5.

In the Contest between Tee Birds and Eagles & Birdies, Tee Birds started off with a bang, winning the first four games. The fifth game was tied. Eagles & Birdies experienced a sudden surge in form which earned them wins in the sixth and seventh games but it was a matter of too little too late. Tee Birds finished with a tally of 9 points while their opponents could garner only 5 points.

The second match of the day between Athletic Drive and Bliss Golfers, witnessed Athletic Drive step on the gas early on, winning the first three games. Bliss Golfers came back to win the fourth game but Athletic Drive pulled back with a win on the fifth. Bliss Golfers went on to register wins on the sixth and seventh games but this was not enough to hand them a win. Athletic Drive won with 8 points while Bliss Golfers had to settle for 6 points.

The fourth contest of the day was between SwingKKings and Birdie Machine, where SwingKKings all but rode rough shod on their opponents, winning the first five games on the trot. The final two games were tied and SwingKKings triumphed with 12 points as against their opponent’s tally of 2 points.

In the final match of the day between Sterling Swingers and Tee Birds, the first game was squared but Tee Birds went on to win the second game. Thereafter it was Sterling Swingers all the way with five wins in as many games. Sterling Swingers finished with 11 points while Tee Birds could muster only 3 points.

The League is being played on a four-ball better ball Matchplay Format and over two stages – a Round Robin stage followed by a Knock-out stage. During each playoff match between two teams in the Round Robin stage, each team will field 7 pairs (14 players). One pair from each team will play against a pair from the other team in the above-mentioned format, with all the players playing off 90% of their original handicaps. The teams will get points for their wins. The 24 teams have been divided into 4 groups. After the Round Robin stage, during which the teams from one group will compete against each other. The top two teams from each group will qualify for the Knock-out stage starting with the Quarter-finals. In the Knock-out Stage the matches between two teams will be contested by seven pairs (14 players). The Finals, as mentioned earlier, will be played on 18th April, 2026.
