Motilal Nehru College (Evening) Hosts Grand Annual Sports Meet 2025–2026

Manas Kumar (B.A. Programme, 1st Year) was awarded the Best Athlete (Men) title after securing first position in three events. In the women’s category, Aahna Baral (B.A. Programme, 1st Year) was declared Best Athlete (Women) for her outstanding performance, securing first position in four events and second position in one event

The meet was formally declared open by the Chief Guest, Prof. Balaram Pani, Dean of colleges, University of Delhi in the presence of distinguished Guests of Honour: Col. Surinder Singh Commanding officer of the 105th Infantry Battalion, Territorial Army Rajput Rifles and Shri Jagvir Malik Assistant State Commissioner Bharat Scouts Guide.

New Delhi: Motilal Nehru College (Evening), University of Delhi, successfully organized its Annual Sports Meet, showcasing a vibrant celebration of athleticism, enthusiasm, and community spirit. The three-day event witnessed active participation from students, faculty, and non-teaching staff, transforming the college campus into a lively arena of sports and camaraderie.

The sports meet featured 18 track and field events, along with matches in basketball, volleyball, and badminton, ensuring inclusive participation from all sections of the college. Students competed in events such as 100m, 200m, and 400m races, long jump, and shot put, while faculty and staff enthusiastically participated in fun events including races, musical chairs, and tug of war.

The grand finale was marked by ceremonial grandeur. The day began with a disciplined March Past, followed by the Flag Hoisting and Oath-Taking Ceremony, reflecting the values of sportsmanship, unity, and fair play.

The event was held under the patronage of Prof. Sandeep Garg, whose guidance and encouragement were instrumental in making the event a grand success. The programme was organized by the Department of Physical Education & Sports Sciences, with valuable support from the NCC and NSS units of the college. The occasion was further graced by distinguished dignitaries and faculty members from various colleges of the University of Delhi.
