49th All India Lala Raghubir Singh Hot Weather Prize Money Cricket Tournament inaugurated by Ashok Pratap Singh

New Delhi: Collage Sports Club defeated Sonnet Cricket Club by 8 wickets in the opening match of 49th All India Lala Raghubir Singh Hot Weather Prize Money Cricket Tournament here at Modern School, Barakhamba Road.

Earlier, Tournament was inaugurated by Shri Ashok Pratap Singh, Ex-President, Board of Trustees, Modern School. Mr. Aditya Gupta, Treasurer, Board of Trustees, Modern School, Justice Mukul Mudgal, Chairman, Modern School, and Principal Dr. Vijay Datta were also present on the occasion.

Batting first, Sonnet Cricket Club were bowled out for 229 runs in 38.3 overs. Shivam Kishore Kumar scored 66 runs, while Aryan Dalal contributed 51 runs. Naman Tiwari and Lokesh Nagar added 25 runs each.

For Collage Sports Club, Rajneesh Dadar, Tishant Dabla, Ankit Chaudhary and Pankaj Jaswal picked up two wickets each.

In reply, Collage Sports Club chased down the target in 25.4 overs, scoring 232/2. Ankit Pratap Singh starred with an unbeaten 88 off 63 balls, including 10 fours and 3 sixes. Siddharth smashed an unbeaten 50 off just 22 balls with 3 fours and 5 sixes. Samarth Seth scored 46 runs, while Siddhant June contributed 36 runs.

Ankit Pratap Singh was adjudged the “Man of the Match” for his brilliant unbeaten innings. The award was presented by Rupesh Jaipuria.
