New Delhi: Outer Delhi Warriors delivered a commanding all-round performance to defeat Bhawani Youth Cricket Club by 8 wickets in a Pool C league encounter of the prestigious 51st All India Goswami Ganesh Dutt Memorial Cricket Tournament.

Batting first after being put in to bat, Bhawani Youth C.C. posted 152/9 in 20 overs. Bharat Sindhwant played a fighting knock of 51 not out off 34 balls, striking 3 fours and 4 sixes, while Kapil contributed 51 runs at the top of the order. However, the rest of the batting lineup struggled to build substantial partnerships.

The chief architect of Outer Delhi Warriors’ bowling success was Shivam Sharma, who produced a superb spell of 4 wickets for 11 runs in 4 overs, dismantling the middle order and restricting Bhawani Youth C.C. to a below-par total. Aman Chaudhary also chipped in with 2 wickets, while Siddhant Sharma and Shaurya Malik claimed a wicket each.

Chasing a target of 153, Outer Delhi Warriors made light work of the total, reaching 156/2 in just 10.3 overs. Opener Lakshay Kundra played a brilliant unbeaten innings of 73 runs off 25 balls, smashing 2 fours and 10 sixes. He received excellent support from wicketkeeper-batsman Dhruv Singh, who remained unbeaten on 62 off 26 balls, including 4 fours and 6 sixes.

Their unbroken partnership ensured that Outer Delhi Warriors cruised to victory with plenty of overs to spare, sealing an emphatic 8-wicket win.

For Bhawani Youth C.C., the bowlers found little assistance as the Warriors’ batters dominated the chase. Neelmani Kumar and Mahaksh Dewan managed to pick up one wicket each.

Awards were given by Mr. Ved. Prakash Sareen (President) and Mr. Mukul Sharma (Treasurer) of Goswami Ganesh Dutt Memorial Society (Regd.).

Man of the Match: Shivam Sharma (4 wickets for 11 runs)
