NEW DELHI: The WHO has condoled the sad demise of  India’s legendary sportsperson Milkha Singh. Milkha was WHO Goodwill Ambassador for physical activity in South-East Asia Region.

In her condolence message Dr. Poonam Khetrapal Singh, Regional Director, WHO South-East Asia said, “WHO condoles the death of Milkha Singh ji, who as a Goodwill Ambassador for Physical Activity in WHO South-East Asia Region, passionately promoted regular exercise to reduce the burden of lifestyle-related non-communicable diseases. His interventions with Member countries were hugely motivating and will continue to inspire us”
