Gurugram: At halfway stage of the quarter-final matches on Day 4 of the 19th HCL International Bridge Championship (4*14 boards), FORMIDABLES was leading with a score of 46-35. Hope N Prey had a comfortable lead of 83-48 against Mavericks; Dhampur Sugar was in a comfortable position with a lead of 104-36 against Rampage and Mindandmatter led Tornatae by a slender margin of 59.7-51.

Yesterday, on day 3 of the Pre-quarterfinals (4 * 14 boards) of the GOLD event got over, in which team Texan Aces edged past team Amanora by a thin margin of 112-105. Hope And Prey comfortably beat Symphony by 160-90; Dhampur Sugar beat COGITO by 136-88 and Tornatae team beat Shri Radhey by a solitary margin of 102-91. Mind and Matter beat Bangur Cement by 139.3 – 116; Rampage beat the polish team Bridge24PL by 130-76; Mavericks beat Arun Jain by 152-127 and Formidables beat team Mango by 144-75.

After two more sessions, the winners will qualify for the semi-finals to be played on Saturday.
In the pre-quarterfinals of the Silver event held yesterday, teams Lucky Six, Sangam, Pradeep, Prayas, Gold Galaxy, Blitz, EISK & Mahakal teams were qualified to the quarter finals.
Today in the quarter-final matches (4*14 boards), after 2 sessions, Mahakal was leading by 50-30; EISK was leading over Sangam by 60-56; Pradeep was in a commanding position leading by 85.5-48 and Gold Galaxy was leading Prayas by 57-30.
Also, the open MP Pair event started yesterday, in which 197 pairs participated in the first elimination round. The top 81 Pairs qualified to the 2nd elimination round being played today. 31 seeded pairs have joined them in the elimination-2 round. 47 TOP ranked pairs after playing 3 Sessions of 18 boards today will qualify for the elimination-3 round, to be played tomorrow.
106 pairs who could not qualify in the elimination-1 round of the MP pairs participated in the Match Point Pairs STRATA – II event.
Today the IMP Pairs event has started.
