Texan Aces leads by 80-77 against Team Amanora on Day 3 of 19th HCL International Bridge Championship

Gurugram:The top 16 teams have qualified for the Knock-out last-16 stage of the 19th HCL International Bridge Championship. From the 45 teams participating in the Gold event, Team TEXAN ACES comprising G. Venkatesh, P. Sridharan, Rakesh Dalal, Anil Padhye, Raju Tolani & Ajay Khare topped the Swiss league with 139.18 VPs (out of a possible 200 VPs). The 2nd place was taken by team Hope N Prey with a score of 134.53 VPs, and team Dhampur Sugar was in 3rd position with a score of 132.70 VPs. The qualified teams are playing the 4-session, last-16 stage knock-out match of 14-boards per session.
On Thursday, at the end of 3 rounds, Texan Aces was leading by 80-77 against team Amanora; Hope N Prey was comfortably in lead with a score of 134-56 against Symphony; Dhampur was just 1 IMP up over COGITO with a score of 88-87; Shri Radhey led Tornatae by 84-56; Mind and Matter was leading by 97.3-77 over Bangur Cement; Rampage was leading 102 – 66 against the Polish team Bridge24 PL; Mavericks led by 124-95 over Arun Jain & Formidables was leading by 96-63 against Mango.
In the SILVER event, the top 16 teams qualified for the last-16 stage where they are playing 4 sessions of 14 board matches. At the end of 3 rounds, Lucky Six, Sangam, Pradeep, Prayas, Gold Galaxy, Blitz, EISK & Mahakal teams were in lead against their opponents.
The Match point Pair event has also started today. 197 pairs are playing in 10 sections. After playing 3 sessions of 18 boards, the top 80 pairs will qualify for the elimination-2 round. The non-qualifiers can participate in the Match Point Pairs STRATA-II event to be played today.
