Afghanistan’s pride “Taq-e-Zafar” gate at Arun Jaitley Stadium

New Delhi, September 12, 2026: At Gate No. 3 of Arun Jaitley Stadium, Afghanistan has put up a replica of the “Taq-e-Zafar” gate. It is a symbol of great honour and pride for the people of Afghanistan.

The Trophy Unveiling ceremony was held here on Saturday. Captain of both the teams unveiled the trophy The three T20I match Friendship Cup series will start from tomorrow. Afghanistan is the host of the series.

From Sunday,  spectators will enter from “Taq-e-Zafar” gate. The original gate was built more than fifty years ago in Kabul. An Afghan told us that it was erected in memory of soldiers who lost their lives in war, much like the India Gate in New Delhi.
