Members of DDCA have long been denied their rightful status under the sun. The grants that the association has been receiving have been mismanaged. There is no proper auditing of the books of accounts. Members of the association have borne the brunt of facilities being denied which is rightfully theirs. More importantly, DDCA, under Rohan Jaitley, have failed to upgrade the stadium infrastructure as was promised- kirti Azad, Former Test Cricketer, Member of Parliament

Highlighting the mishappenings and misconduct at DDCA by the existing office bearers, Kirti Azad and his team questioned the existing DDCA officials about “mismanagement of funds”, posing tough questions to Rohan Jaitley and his team.

In his election cry titled “Ab Nahi Badlega Toh Kabhi Nahi Badlega”, Kirti Azad, former Test cricketer and Member of Parliament, is on mission to transform DDCA with immediate effect to bring about transformation to the functioning style of DDCA with a view to bring about “respectable” change to the face of Indian cricket, its players and instil pride among the association members about the association and the facilities that are offered to its members.

In this address to the media, Kirti Azad said, “the members of DDCA have long been denied their rightful status under the sun. The grants that the association has been receiving have been mismanaged. There is no proper auditing of the books of accounts. Members of the association have borne the brunt of facilities being denied which is rightfully theirs. More importantly, DDCA, under Rohan Jaitley, have failed to upgrade the stadium infrastructure as was promised”.

Kirti Azad – Sanjay Bhardwaj panel also alleges the current DDCA apex panel headed by Rohan Jaitley gross mismanagement of funds, favouritism in ticket distribution for members of their choice / VIP Culture in ticket distribution, neglect of grassroots development and lack of member engagement.

The case for Kirti Azad’s Presidency transcends mere eligibility – it resonates with a clarion call for transparency, reform, and an enduring vision that promises to elevate DDCA to the pinnacle of cricketing institutions.

Sanjay Bhardwaj, the Secretarial candidate in the running and seen as a crusader against corruption, echoed the voice of Kirti Azad. After a brilliant innings from 1986 to 1989 representing Delhi in the Ranji Trophy playing alongside stalwarts like Kirti Azad, Madan Lal, Mohinder Amarnath, Surinder Khanna and Raman Lamba, Sanjay Bhardwaj, in 2018, transitioned from cricket to DDCA politics where is honesty, cricketing background and drive to reform made him the ideal candidate. He became the first person in DDCA to stage a hunger strike against corruption, marking the start of his fight for transparency and better facilities for members.

Kirti also said that “I have a plan to open cricket Academies in 9 zones of Delhi. These Academies will be run by DDCA and provide top class coaching to the young cricketers.”
