New Delhi : The Kejriwal Government is developing the country’s most advanced government school in Delhi. The Kejriwal Government is taking another step towards making Delhi’s education system world-class by building a school that will be fully equipped with all modern facilities. To provide holistic education to students, the school would advance sports along with learning. The school has been designed in such a way that even the roof of the school can be fully utilized. Unique in itself, basketball, tennis and volleyball courts will be prepared on the roof of this school building to facilitate outdoor sports activities. A magnificent semi Olympic size swimming pool will also be developed in the school. Along with 52 classrooms, 8 labs equipped with all the modern technologies and facilities will be set up in the school. Modern facilities like rain-water harvesting systems would also be installed in the school building.


This school, being built at a cost of Rs 39.73 crore, will be ready within a year, in which all world-class facilities for education as well as sports will be available to its students. Deputy Chief Minister and Education Minister Shri Manish Sisodia laid the foundation stone of this School of Specialized Excellence in Mehram Nagar on Thursday. On this occasion, Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia said that the new building of this school has been designed keeping in mind the overall development of the children. This school building will be different from the normal schools and the entire school premises would be involved in the learning process of the children.

What would the school look like?
State of the art classrooms and labs
There will be 52 classrooms in this school. All the classrooms will be equipped with all modern facilities of teaching. Smart classrooms would be suitable for digital learning and have all the facilities to provide for the needs of the children. This school will also have 8 labs. The four-floor school building will have 2 labs on each floor. In this way, there will be a total of 8 labs in the school. All labs will have the latest modern facilities.

World class outdoor sports facilities to be present on the roof of the school


Along with studies, for the physical development of children and to encourage children’s interest in sports world class sports facilities will be developed in the school premises. Basketball court, tennis court and volleyball court will be built on the roof of the school, which will be quite unique in itself.

*Grand auditorium and open amphitheater to be built in the school*
A grand auditorium with a seating capacity of 800 people will also be constructed in the school. This auditorium will be equipped with all modern facilities and it can be used for various cultural activities in the school as well as for large conferences. Along with this, an open amphitheater with a capacity of 1,000 people will also be developed in the school.

*World-class swimming pool will be prepared in the school premises for future Olympians*

A luxurious world-class semi Olympic size swimming pool will be built in the school in which heating and cooling facilities will be present. The length of this swimming pool is 25 meters and width is 12.5 meters to allow maximum children to practice swimming at the same time.

*School will be equipped with world class indoor sports activities*

Along with studies in school, sports will be encouraged. To facilitate this, a separate block has been designated for sports in the school building. All sports related facilities will be available in this block. In addition, the school will also have a court for indoor sports activities like squash and table tennis.

On laying the foundation stone of the new school building, Deputy Chief Minister and Education Minister Manish Sisodia said that after the completion of this school, the children will bring laurels to India from all over the world after receiving quality education from here. He said that the Kejriwal Government is committed to provide world-class facilities to the children studying in the government schools of Delhi. He said that it is our responsibility to provide all the facilities to schools, but a good school is not marked by only a magnificent building but by the hard work of its students and teachers. Mr. Sisodia said that since forming the government in 2015, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has made improving the education system of Delhi a priority for the government. This is the reason that today, not only government schools with world class infrastructure are being built in Delhi, but quality education is also being given to the children. It is for the Chief Minister’s vision on education, today the education revolution of Delhi is discussed all over the world.
