New Delhi: The New Delhi Tigers produced a commanding all-round performance to register a 7-wicket win over Outer Delhi Warriors in the Delhi Premier League clash at the Arun Jaitley Stadium on Friday.

Chasing a target of 143, the Tigers were off to a flying start thanks to a superb opening stand between skipper Himmat Singh and Shivam Gupta. The pair added 113 runs for the first wicket, setting the tone for a comfortable chase.

Himmat led from the front with a brisk 58 off 38 balls, while Shivam matched him stroke for stroke, scoring 59 off 43. Their partnership virtually sealed the game before the Tigers comfortably crossed the line to collect two valuable points.

Earlier in the day, the Tigers’ bowlers had set up the victory with a disciplined effort. The Warriors were restricted to 142/7 in 20 overs, never really finding the momentum to post a challenging total.

Aatrey Tripathi.

Pradyuman Sanan was impressive with the ball, finishing with 1/16 in 4 overs, while Aatrey Tripathi returned with 2/19 in 4 overs. Their tight spells ensured constant pressure on the Warriors’ batting unit.

For the Warriors, Priyansh Arya top-scored with 36 off 26, and Shivam Sharma provided late fireworks with 28 off 14, but regular wickets meant they fell short of putting up a bigger score.

In the end, it was a clinical chase from the Tigers, who showcased both discipline with the ball and aggression with the bat to secure a comprehensive win.

Brief Scores:

Outer Delhi Warriors 142/7 in 20 overs (Priyanshu Arya 36, Shivam Sharma 28; Aatrey Tripathi 2/19, Pradyuman Sanan 1/16).

New Delhi Tigers 143/3 in 17.2 overs (Shivam Gupta 59, Himmat Singh 58).
