New Delhi: Seher Atwal fired her second straight under par round to stretch her lead to five shots at the end of the second round of the 14th Leg of the Hero Women’s Pro Golf Tour at the Delhi Golf Club. With rounds of 68-71 she is now 5-under 139 and five ahead of Sneha Singh (71-73) who is second and overall leading the Order of Merit.

Asmitha Sathish (73-72) at 145 is third, Kriti Chowhan (74-73) at 147 is fourth and Ridhima Dilawari (78-72) at 6-over 150 is fifth.

Seher, who won the first leg of the Tour this season, birdied the second, then had back-to-back gains on seventh and eighth and another one on 16th. She dropped shots on sixth, ninth and 14th.

Sneha, who like Seher has been trying to find his form again, had three birdies and two bogeys and seemed to be fine till she had a double bogey on 18th.

Tied for sixth place are amateurs Lavanya Gupta (78-73), Jasmine Shekar (76-75) and Agrima Manral (73-78) at 7-over 151, while Tvesa Malik, winner last week, had a tough day with 77 and slipped to T-9 alongside amateur Smriti Bhargava (79-73).

Neha Tripathi (73-81), Jyotsana Singh (77-77) and Khushi Khanijau (75-79) are tied 11th.

The cut fell at 164 and 25 players made the grade for the final round.

This is the last event before Indian women’s golf’s flagship event, the Hero Women’s Indian Open next month.
