Simdega (Jharkhand) : Defending champions Hockey Haryana and hosts Hockey Jharkhand stormed into the final of the 11th Hockey India Sub Junior Women National Championship 2021 with resounding victories here in Simdega today.

In the first Semi-Final, Hockey Haryana, the top-scorers and the reigning champions romped to a comprehensive 10-0 win against Uttar Pradesh Hockey in what was a much-awaited clash. Tamanna Yadav (6’, 53’, 55’) led her team’s charge with a fine hat-trick. Kanika Siwach (19’, 34’) and Ishika (25’, 38) scored two goals each. Sejal (9’), Shashi Khasa (17’), Bhateri (48’) scored one goal each. Kanika and Tamanna currently top the goalscoring charts of the 11th Hockey India Sub Junior Women National Championship 2021 with 15 goals each.

In the second Semi-Final, Hockey Jharkhand beat Hockey Odisha 5-0 to book their place in the summit event. Nisha Minj’s goals (7’, 21’) put Hockey Jharkhand 2-0 up at half-time. The hosts further extended their lead in the second half. In-form Fulmani Bhengra (43’, 50’) ended with two goals while Purnima Barwa (35’) scored one goal.

The 3rd/4th place match between Uttar Pradesh Hockey and Hockey Odisha will begin at 1100 hours tomorrow. The final match between Hockey Haryana and Hockey Jharkhand will start at 1500 hours.
