Chief guest Professor Balaram Pani, Dean of Colleges, Delhi University and Professor Sarita Tyagi, Head of the Department of Physical Education, Delhi University while inaugurating the 10th Padmashree Shyam Lal Memorial Hockey Tournament.

New Delhi: Host Shyam Lal College started it’s campaign in the 10th Padmashree Shyam Lal Memorial Invitational Hockey Tournament with a hard fought win in the men’s category.
The tournament was inaugurated by the chief guest Professor Balaram Pani, Dean of Colleges, Delhi University. Professor Sarita Tyagi, Head of the Department of Physical Education, Delhi University and Sanjay Kumar Swamy were the guests of honour.
In the inaugural match, Shyam Lal College defeated Indira Gandhi Institute of Physical Education and Sports Science 1-0 with a winning goal scored by man of the match Ashish Sehrawat.

In the women’s category, Indira Gandhi Institute of Physical Education and Sports Science defeated Bharti College 5-0. Hema Negi and Pinky scored two goals each for the winning team. Somlata scored a goal. In this match Somlata received the Woman of the Player award.
In the third match, Shyam Lal College Alumni defeated Kirori Mal College 6-2. For the winning team, Devendra Singh Jaggi scored two goals and Vishal, Shashi, Khagesh and Pratyush Singh Jaggi scored one goal each. Dhruv and Shrestha Sagar scored one goal each for Kirori Mal College.
Devendra Singh Jaggi was declared man of the match in this match.
