CISF all set to host 7th All India Police Judo Cluster-2022 from September 19 to 24 at Indira Gandhi Sports Complex

All endeavour would be made by CISF to promote the sports associated with the Judo Cluster amongst youth of our country.- Udayan Banerjee, IG (Adm), CISF HQrs

  • Shri Anurag Singh Thakur, Union Minister for Information & Broadcasting and Youth Affairs & Sports, will be the Chief Guest of opening ceremony.
  •  41 teams &1500 sportspersons from Central Police Forces and State Police will be participating in the Judo Championship.
  • 168 sportspersons of CISF (97 men and 71 women) will take part in the Judo Cluster.
  • Seven games will be organised in this Cluster namely; Judo, Wushu, Taekwondo, Pencak Silat, Karate, Gymnastics and Fencing.
  • This year Penkak Silat, Fencing and Wushu are included for the first time in the Cluster.

New Delhi: CISF will host the 7th All India Police Judo Cluster-2022 from September 19 to 24 here at Indira Gandhi Sports Complex.

A Curtain Raiser function for 7th All India Police Judo Cluster-2022 was organised on Friday at CISF Campus, Saket, New Delhi.

The function was presided over by Shri Udayan Banerjee, IG(Adm), CISF HQrs and conducted by Dr. Anil Pandey, DIG (Chief PRO) of CISF.

Shri Udayan Banerjee, IG (Adm), CISF HQrs informed that 7th All India Police Judo Cluster-2022 is being organised by CISF from 19th to 24th September, 2022 at Indira Gandhi Sports Complex, New Delhi. Opening ceremony of the Cluster will be held on 19th September, 2022 at 4pm, Hon’ble Minister Information & Broadcasting and Youth Affairs & Sports, Government of India, Shri Anurag Singh Thakur has kindly consented to be the Chief Guest on the occasion.

Seven games will be organised in this Cluster namely; Judo, Wushu, Taekwondo, Pencak Silat, Karate, Gymnastics and Fencing. This year Penkak Silat, Fencing and Wushu are included for the first time in the Cluster. 41 teams with approximate 1500 sportspersons from Central Police Forces and State Police will be participating in the Judo Championship.168 sportspersons of CISF (97 men and 71 women) will take part in the Cluster.

The closing ceremony of the Cluster will be organised on 24th September, 2022 at 4pm, Hon’ble Smt. Archana Ramasundaram, Member, Lokpal of India will grace the occasion as the Chief Guest.

Ms Pooja Kadiyan, Arjun Awardee an outstanding ‘Wushu’ champion, 04 times world champion and first ever Gold Medalist of India in world championship-2017, Ms Tulika Maan, Silver Medalist in ‘Judo’ in Commonwealth Games-2022 and Shri Vijay Kumar Yadav, Bronze Medalist in ‘Judo’ in Commonwealth Games-2022, were the guests on the occasion of the Curtain Raiser.

Ms Pooja Kadiyan expressed her happiness for organising such a grand event by CISF and also appreciated the good works done by CISF in securing the national assets of India.

Shri Vijay Kumar Yadav expressed his gratitude and said that with its rich traditions, CISF would make this Cluster a memorable event. He was confident that CISF sportspersons would achieve grand success in this cluster.

The invited renowned sportspersons also requested the media for wide publicity of the Cluster for making the event a grand success and to promote games amongst the youth of the country.
