3rd Senior & 2nd Sub Junior Delhi State Korfball Championship 2023-24

New Delhi: The 3rd Senior and 2nd Sub Junior Delhi State Korfball Championship 2023-24 commenced with a grand and colourful opening ceremony here on Saturday at Bharat National  Public School, Ram Vihar. 

The championship was inaugurated by the chief guest Mr. Rishi Kumar Sharma, Deputy Secretary, Hindi Academy, Delhi. The officials including, Mr. Ravi Raj, Secretary of Delhi Korfball Association also welcomed many notable attendees including Mr. Rakesh Thapliyal, Editor-in-Chief of Khel Today Magazine, Mr. Nikhil Pathak, Reporter, Dainik Jagran, and Ms. Fathima Parveen, Administrator, Bharat National Public School, Ram Vihar. 

The concluding day, Sunday promises an action-packed finale with the semi-finals, finals, and hardline matches, set to take place in the presence of Mr. Himanshu Nath Mishra, President of the Korfball Federation of India.

This year’s championship witnessed enthusiastic participation with seven district and school teams in the senior category and six teame in the junior category.

On the first day, the league matches showcased spirited competition, leading to the semi-finalists.

Senior Category Semi-Finalists:

  1. North Delhi District
  2. South West Delhi District
  3. Shahdara District
  4. Mayur Public School

Sub Junior Category Semi-Finalists:

  1. North Delhi District
  2. G.D. Goenka Public School (KKD)
  3. East Delhi District
  4. West Delhi District

Key Results of Day 1:

 Senior Category: North Delhi District triumphed over Mayur Public School with a score of 5-1.

Junior Category: North Delhi District defeated West Delhi District 4-2.
