Shahdara District wins 1st Delhi State Junior Korfball Championship 2023 at Bharat National Public School

New Delhi: Shahdara District became champion in the 1st Delhi State Junior Korfball Championship 2023 at Bharat National Public School, Ram Vihar.

East Delhi and North Delhi got second and third position respectively. The championship was organized by Delhi Amateur Korfball Association (Korfball Delhi) in association with BNPS Sports Academy, Ram Vihar on 25th & 26th February 2023 where total 6 teams of various districts & clubs took part.

The championship was held on league cum knock out format where each team got 5 matches to show their talent. This brought out the competitive spirit in all of them!

There were a lot of spectators cheering on their teams since it is exciting to watch friends play and compete against each other. The court was noisy but fantastic. The atmosphere was electric with the cheers of the players and parents and the enthusiasm of the participants.

The games were exhilarating and everybody thoroughly enjoyed themselves. We witnessed good sportsmanship by all the players which was the best part of the event. In the finals Shahdara District outplayed East Delhi district The championship had ended with results given below:

1. Shahdara District
2. East Delhi
3. North Delhi

The players were shortlisted during the competition for the upcoming Junior National Korfball Championship 2023.

On the opening day Mr. Kanwaljeet Khungar, Principal, Bharat National Public School, Dr. Meenakshi Pahuja, Associate Professor, LSR College, Mr. Rakesh Thapliyal, Chief Editor, Khel Today Group, Ms. Pashmina Khungar, Coordinator, Bharat National Public School, Ms. Fathima Parveen, Administrator, Bharat National Public School graced the occasion as the special guests and praised the efforts made by Korfball Delhi to promote the game.

On day 2,  Mr. Lakshya Chhabaria, President, Affordable Private Schools, Mr. Himanshu Nath Mishra, President, Korfball Federation of India, Mr. Pulastya Pramachala, Additional Session Judge, Mr. Rahul Jain, Eminent Social Worker, Mr. Harpal Singh Flora, Chief Editor, Khelo India News, Ad. Rishabh Sharma, Standing Counsel, Central Govt. Union of India were present during the closing ceremony and gave away the winning trophies and medals to all the position holder teams. Mr. Anil Kumar organizing secretary, maintained tempo of the event throughout.
