New Delhi: Vishal Sharma will lead Indian Beach Korfball Team in the IKF World Beach Korfball Championship at Nador, Morocco. The Championship will be held from 19 to 20 August, 2022.

Himanshu Nath Mishra, President, Korfball Federation of India, told this reporter on Monday night “All the hurdles are over and Indian Beach Korfball Team will leave for Nador, Morocco in the early morning of Tuesday with the hopes of doing well.”

” We will run the Federation in a democratic way with the help of all state units, ” he said.

Monday was quite a busy day for the Korfball players and officials of Korfball Federation of India as they met and took the blessings of Shri Anurag Singh Thakur, Union Minister for Youth Affairs & Sports and Shri Om Birla, Loksabha Speaker.

Korfball Federation of India hosted a dinner at India International Center, which was attended by players, officials and journalists.

Shri Himanshu Nath gave the honour to announce the name of the Captain to Rakesh Thapliyal, Editor-in-Chief of Khel Today Magazine and Website: www.kheltoday.com.When Shri Thapliyal announced that Vishal Sharma will be the captain, everyone clapped and congratulated Vishal.

” You must remember that captaincy brings big responsibility especially in a foreign country, you players are the ambassador of India so you have to be careful about the image of our country,” said Rakesh.

The training camp was organised under the guidance of Rajesh Kumar Saini, Coach Indian Beach Korfball Team,at Besant Nagar Beach, Chennai (Tamilnadu) from 07 to 13 August, 2022.
